The professional guidance of the detection of crimes is a particularly complex work. The most important task of the Criminal Intelligence Division (being the unit with nationwide competence) is the grouping together of covert information gathering activities in Hungary.

That have not even happened yet

It is important for all of us that the responsible units detect crimes that already happened and find their perpetrators, to prevent the execution of planned crimes and to interrupt the execution of commenced but not yet finished crimes. Criminal intelligence also includes the establishment of the identity of unknown perpetrators and to determine the place of residence of fleeing perpetrators wanted by the Police.

Information is power

Fundamental task of the Criminal Intelligence Division is the professional guidance of covert information gathering and – having regard to legal amendments – the development of a new methodology in order to unify the work carried out in this field. Colleagues of the division organize training courses to acquire the most up-to-date knowledge.
