Activities of the office specialty are often unnoticeable for citizens, since they aim at ensuring the management, secretariat, legal and strategic planning background for the fulfilling of fundamental tasks of the Police. Besides providing the necessary data and information to the leaders’ decisions, discovering the differences between the designated objectives and the actual outcomes of the operation is also essential, to which the monitoring of control activities provide assistance.

Ombudsman within doors

The “data protection commissioner” of the Police shall watch the lawfulness of data management, beside the person in charge of internal data protection shall attend to ensure the disclosure of data of public interest. The coordination of the “own legal system” of the Police (internal norms and legal acts) is also provided by colleagues of the office specialty.

At the table of law

Colleagues of the Office proceed on behalf of the Police in litigation cases, labour trials initiated by members of the staff and compensation trials against the Police. Upon the establishment of the Independent Police Complaints Commission representing civil control by examining complaints against police measures, newer and more significant administrative trials started.

Police of the future

Fundamental objective of the Scientific, Technological and Innovation Council of the Police is – corresponding the needs of a knowledge-based society – to turn scientific and technological development and innovation into decisive factors in the future activities of the organization. Strategy of the Council covers police sciences, criminal, management and organizational sciences and other sciences relating to these fields. Scientific activities of the organization promote the establishment of strategic decisions on the Police and the preparation of codification by interpreting the phenomena of public safety and police tasks in a comprehensive framework.
