During the UEFA Europa League Final, the Budapest Police Headquarters will provide an increased police presence in the inner districts of the capital and other venues affected by the match.

The police will provide an increased presence in the inner districts of the capital and other venues affected by the match on the day before the UEFA Europa League final on 31 May 2023, on the day and on the day after the final.

The purpose of the increased and reinforced police presence in the affected areas of the capital is to strengthen public order and public safety, as well as to prevent and disrupt unlawful behaviour and to take firm action against unlawful acts.

The Budapest Metropolitan Police ask football fans to:

  • to comply with any police orders or requests,
  • not to seek conflict with other groups of fans,
  • avoid fear-mongering and offensive behaviour,
  • not to cover their faces in or on the way to the stadium,
  • not to carry knives, brass  kunckles or other objects that are particularly dangerous to public safety and do not bring into the stadium objects prohibited by the stadium manager (see pictogram),
  • carry appropriate identification documents and hand them over to the police if requested to do so.

The Chief of Budapest Metropolitan Police has ordered an increased control in several districts of the capital from 30 May 2023 at 12:00 to 2 June 2023 at 6:00, with the aim of preventing, detecting and interrupting illegal acts and maintaining public order and safety.
