PLEASE BE INFORMED that despite the abolition of border check at the internal borders, the exit from or entry to Hungary is only possible in possession of a valid ID card (citizens of EU, Switzerland, Island, Norway and Liechtenstein) or a valid passport.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW that the police of Schengen member states have right to check the documents and the conditions of stay on a random base, so in Hungary the police has the right to check your identity and the citizenship, and the validity and originality of documents authorizing you to stay.
