The 41st Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix will be held at the Hungaroring in Mogyoród between July 24–26, 2026. Police security for the event will once again be provided by the Pest County Police Headquarters, with a similar number of police officers participating as in previous years. Police officers from seven countries are again assisting them in their work this year.

The sporting event attracts large numbers of domestic and foreign visitors, which places a heavy burden on traffic in the town and the surrounding area. We ask residents of Mogyoród to only leave their homes by car if absolutely necessary, and for everyone to exercise greater patience than usual when travelling.

From the morning of July 23, 2026 until the morning of July 26, 2026, visitors will be able to park their vehicles in the designated parking areas around the race circuit and on the roads leading to it.

Illegally parked vehicles will be towed away by the police, and legal proceedings will be initiated for the offence. Owners may reclaim their vehicles only after paying the towing charges.

During the event, the following traffic changes can be expected:

  • In Szilasliget, traffic on József Attila Road will be two-way all the way to Main Road 3. However, in the afternoon, there may be periods when vehicles will only be allowed to travel away from the race circuit.

  • In Mogyoród, traffic on Gödöllői Road and Dózsa György Road will also be two-way, as traffic conditions permit. However, from Mázsa Square towards Dózsa György Road, motorists will only be able to travel towards the race circuit in the morning and away from it in the afternoon.

  • On the road between Lake Kerek and the main entrance to the Hungaroring, traffic will be one-way in the morning towards the main entrance and one-way in the afternoon towards Lake Kerek.

  • During the arrival period, traffic from the exit at kilometre marker 19.2 on the M3 motorway to Lake Kerek will only be permitted in one direction, towards the Hungaroring.

  • Traffic between Aquaréna and the Szilasliget bus terminal will remain two-way throughout the event.

  • Between the main entrance to the Hungaroring and the Szilasliget bus terminal, motorists may travel in one direction from the main entrance towards Gates 7 and 6. At the end of the races, the direction of traffic will be reversed.

  • From the Mogyoród HÉV railway crossing towards the race circuit as far as Gate 2, traffic will be one-way towards the circuit in the morning and one-way away from the circuit in the afternoon.
  • After the race, motorists leaving the P2 (formerly Gratis II) and P3 (formerly Gratis I) car parks between Gates 8 and 7 must exit via Csömör, while those leaving the P1 (formerly Gratis III) car park must exit via Mogyoród.

After the race, traffic from Lake Kerek will be directed along two routes: either towards the M3 motorway or towards Mogyoród. At the water tower, access to Mogyoród will be provided via the Pince sor–Somlói Road route.

The race circuit can be reached by public transport using the H8 HÉV suburban railway. Free shuttle buses will transport visitors from the Kerepes HÉV station to Gate 3 of the Hungaroring, from where all spectator areas are accessible. In the afternoon, free buses will take spectators to the Gödöllő MÁV railway station and the Gödöllő HÉV station.

During the race weekend, the police will decide on introducing one-way traffic on certain roads depending on traffic conditions. The Pest County Police Headquarters will help ensure the smooth flow of traffic through police traffic control and information signs on all affected roads. Please follow the instructions of police officers.

We kindly ask visitors to allow extra time for admission, as entry procedures may take longer than usual. Please arrive early.

Information about the admission rules is available on the website of Hungaroring Sport Zrt.

We recommend parking only in the designated, supervised parking areas. To help prevent crime, always lock your vehicle and never leave animals, valuables or personal documents inside the passenger compartment.

We kindly ask visitors not to rely on their usual routes, to approach the venue with extra caution, and to always follow the instructions of the police.

A temporary police station will operate near the race circuit between July 23 and July 26, 2026. Its contact details are available on the www.police.hu website.
